On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the founding of the Youth of St. Francis of Ramla, members and the association's leadership visited Assisi, the birthplace of St. Francis, founder of the Franciscan order, in July.

The goal is to know the origins of St. Francis - where he grew up - so that we too can "begin" our journey anew. St. Francis each time, at the beginning of each work, said, "Let us begin, brothers!" This visit is also a new beginning, so that we can renew our lives by following in the footsteps of St. Francis.

I am very happy to be here in Assisi. This is the first time for me. I ask St. Francis to stand by his side and follow in his footsteps.

We have come to Assisi to follow in the footsteps of St. Francis, to deepen his teachings that we have come to know in the association and to transmit these teachings to the young people of our country.

Today, St. Francis is a model for our young people of how to live the faith in the different contexts in which they find themselves: school, university, work. I believe this journey will bear great fruit for their future.
The group visited the most important churches in Assisi and Rome.

We are visiting the Church of Our Lady of the Angels, our mother, the Virgin Mary. St. Francis loved the Virgin Mary very much and we also love her and ask for her intercession for our youth.
In addition to the spiritual aspect, there was also a cultural, tourist and social aspect to the trip.

Youth members became more united, their sense of belonging increased and their faith became stronger.
Members of St. Francis Youth of Ramla learn the spiritual simplicity of St. Francis to face today's challenges, guided by the light of the Gospel and certain that all the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the flame of faith.

Society is slipping fast into materialism and things far from our Christian life. We want to remain firm in our Christian life and in the Gospel, which is the basis on which St. Francis lived, and which I urge all young people to follow.
