From the Holy Sepulcher in prayer for peace

Every afternoon, the Franciscan community living in the Convent next to the Holy Sepulcher, in a procession retraces, inside the Basilica, the places of Jesus' passion, death and resurrection. Together with them, local Christians and pilgrims. At each chapel, a moment to remember the events of the redemption of all humanity. A procession much loved by pilgrims and which today takes on a very intense significance. At the end of the celebration, Br. Stéphane Milovitch, President of the Franciscan Community of the Holy Sepulcher, in fact, invited everyone for a moment of prayer for peace in this once again battered land. Br STÉPHANE MILOVITCH, ofm President of the Franciscan Community of the Holy Sepulcher We pray in a special way for this tortured land, the Holy Land, that the peoples living there may live together. Br STÉPHANE MILOVITCH, ofm President of the Franciscan Community of the Holy Sepulcher "For more than 7 centuries, whether it is a time of war, excavation, work, or a peaceful time, Franciscans have daily visited the sites of Jesus' passion. The place where he was crucified, died on the cross, was buried and rose again, and then appeared to his disciples, Our Lady and Mary of Magdala. We make present the events of salvation history. From this place we often pray for peace at the end of the celebration, but on this day we wanted our prayer for peace to be particularly oriented to peace in the world as we always do but in a special way for this land that in this time is being battered one more time. It is the duty of the friars who have been in this basilica for more than 7 centuries to pray for the whole world: from here Christ has risen! From here he has conquered the world! We do not fear because he is victorious, but nevertheless we want all the people to be able to live in this land, in peace, in security." From all the shrines of the Holy Land a cry of peace rises to heaven!
