Christ is risen! Hallelujah... this is this morning's announcement in Jerusalem and all over the world. A strange Holy Week that ended with the celebration of Easter. In the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre, in a different atmosphere than usual, the Apostolic Administrator of the Latin Patriarchate, Mgr. Pierbattista Pizzaballa, presided Mass together with only a few celebrants. Mgr Pizzaballa said in his homily, "in these days we have experienced in a new way the absence of relations between us, the absence of the Eucharist, the absence of our communities". In front of the empty tomb - continued the Administrator in his homily - we want to shout: Lord, you have not abandoned us in death arms. The tomb is empty. You are no longer locked in the tomb, because we know that You, Lord, are alive and are here with us. Your love sustains us, illuminates our lives, comforts our fragile hopes. The celebration ended with the solemn proclamation of the Gospel around the Holy Sepulchre. The Gospel of the Resurrection is proclaimed four times, a symbol of its proclamation throughout the world. HE Mgr PIERBATTISTA PIZZABALLA, ofm Apostolic Administrator Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem "We celebrated an Easter in a very different way, this year, more intimate because there was no community and without a community it is not really a holiday! But in our hearts, we have brought the crosses of all our families to the Calvary, and the needs, the expectations of all our families in the tomb, where they will find an answer. We prayed, hoping that this situation will soon end and hoping that we can embrace ourselves in the Risen Christ again."
