"The situation in Gaza is very strange. But no one can take away the happiness and joy that comes from within."
The joy and faith in the hearts of Gaza's Christians have not given way to discouragement and frustration, despite the difficult economic and health conditions in the Strip.

"We celebrate with heart and soul. Gaza is experiencing very difficult conditions these days. Here there are many people who have been infected by the Coronavirus and the pandemic has spread considerably. Gaza's Christians are used to celebrate around the altar, in this sacred place, and to go to Bethlehem, but unfortunately this year permits were not issued."
This year, due to the exceptional circumstances, also the traditional visit of the Patriarch of Jerusalem, Mgr. Pierbattista Pizzaballa, has been postponed and the Christmas celebrations have been limited.
Fr. GABRIEL ROMANELLI, Ive

"Gaza's Christians are experiencing the Christmas atmosphere with strange feelings this year, as they can only celebrate in their homes. All Gaza Christians are used to celebrate in church, in monasteries, and to visit the city of Bethlehem. This holiday is very important for Christians not only because Jesus is born, but because through His birth He brings salvation to all mankind."
Despite the closures, the joy of Christmas filled the hearts of Gaza's Christians, with the hope that we can soon return to normal.
