Rising to 588 meters above sea level, Mount Tabor stands proudly alone on the plain of Esdraelon, in southern Galilee, a few miles from Nazareth. From below, the Holy Mountain looks majestic, just as it appeared to the eyes of David, who, in one of his Psalms, describes it together with the lofty summit of Hermon as a witness to the Glory of God: “Tabor and Hermon rejoice at the name of the Lord” (Ps. 88,13). This mountain is unique in the Holy Land, because of its rounded shape, its picturesque features, its vegetation and the beauty of its panoramic views.
