"The experience I had in the Franciscan march allowed me to feel our Lord in every part of my life, big or small."

"We lived our life as St. Francis lived it."
"Today with me in Paradise" was the theme chosen for the ninth Franciscan March held in Jordan from June 27 to July 2. It was a unique human, physical and spiritual experience lived by about 100 young people from different Jordanian cities and villages. Among them were also some Iraqi immigrants.
DANIAL
"New participants carry a bag ten times bigger than this one because they haven't learned their lesson...carry with us on our long journey only what we need.
There are many things we think we need in our lives that we cannot do without. We carry them on our shoulders every day; they are heavy and we get tired! At the march, they teach us this, to ask ourselves every day: are there things you would like to give up and not put in the bag? It's good that many young people give up many things."
SANDRA
"This is my first experience in the march, and frankly I was very afraid to face this experience, this new challenge. Despite the pain and fatigue, the benefit was great: I met new people, we talked to so many young people, and their experiences touched me personally."
FARAH
Jordan
"I met many people who had a positive impact on me. I started to give up many things, the first of which was the phone."
Each day five hours of walking. Starting in Amman, they stopped in Ajlun, Al Wahadine, until they arrived in Shatana. A march where they could share experiences, make new friends, help each other, listen to each other. Many shared moments of silence and prayer.

"We were able to establish deep relationships between us priests, the religious and the young people. We touched the hearts of the young people and were able to understand their vision of the world; a world that today puts them under pressure and distances them from true joy, which is God."
Very beautiful moments spent together: the meeting with the Apostolic Nuncio in Jordan, Msgr. Giovanni Pietro Dal Toso, and the Patriarch of Jerusalem of the Latins H. B. Pierbattista Pizzaballa, with whom they were able to dialogue. Both wanted to communicate the hope and confidence that the Church places on youth.
Getting to know St. Francis and his charism is one of the aims of the march. The friars of the Custody of the Holy Land tried to help these young people read their lives in the light of Heaven, which is Jesus Christ. Indeed, St. Francis in his life experienced Paradise, the true source of life, love and joy.

"There are many things we have experienced that we think are unimportant and simple, but they have left a great impact on us. Jesus should be a priority in everything in our lives, the real foundation."
Br DIAB ROSH, ofm
Head of the Franciscan March in Jordan
Today many people are worried and scared about their future. They do not know where they are going or what decision to make in their lives to achieve true peace. We thank the Lord that with these young people, thanks to the march, we were able to achieve "true peace".
