FEAST OF EPIPHANY, ORTHODOX CHRISTMAS AND BAPTISM OF THE LORD IN THE HOLY LAND On Jan. 6, in Bethlehem, the Catholic Church celebrated the Feast of the Epiphany, while on the same date the Orthodox Churches following the Eastern calendar celebrated the Feast of Christmas. On Jan. 7, on the banks of the Jordan River, Latin-rite Christians of the Holy Land, together with Franciscan friars, celebrated the Baptism of Jesus.
